Global paper and packaging solutions company Stora Enso has recently announced the possible conversion of a non-operational paper machine at their Oulu site in Finland. The proposed change would include converting the machine to produce folding box board (FBB), coated unbleached kraft and liner grades, with a projected annual output of 750,000 tonnes. Executive Vice President Hannu Kasurinen believes the investment will ‘respond to strong customer demand to replace plastic in packaging.’

Mondi announce the takeover of its Personal Care Components business
Mondi Group has recently announced that they have sold their Personal Care Components (PPC) business to Nitto Denko Corporation for €615 million. The decision was made due to the realisation that for the PPC to develop, it would be in better hands out with the group. PPC, which was formerly an aspect of the Mondi Engineered Materials business operations, manufactured home care products such as baby nappies and wipes. Japan-based organisation Nikko Denko looks to be the perfect candidate for the takeover, as they look to grow their human life product range.
