With our 18th birthday just a day away we’ve been catching up with more of the PG team as we approach this milestone, looking back on their highlights and challenges at PG Paper so far.
Today we’re speaking to Iain, our Sales Executive, Rajesh, our Research Analyst, Ramy, our International Business Development Manager, Prashant, our Research Analyst, Pat, our Senior Finance Assistant and Justine our Logistics coordinator.
What has been your most satisfying moment in PG Paper?
“Helping in the training of others and then seeing how they develop into successful members of the team. It tests my knowledge and skills and shows how I have developed since joining PG Paper in 2020.” – Iain
“Each time your ideas, opinions and efforts are appreciated, making you feel involved in the company in a true sense.” – Rajesh
Is there any such thing as a typical day?
“Every day is new, challenging and rewarding in PG Paper. From new daily stock opportunities to learning experiences, through to communicating across our multinational teams and customers.” – Ramy
What motivates you?
“I think motivation is a key component for unlocking and achieving your true potential at work. PG Paper encourages me to do so through a sense of ownership in my work, and providing an environment of trust and openness.” – Prashant
What has been your biggest challenge? As PG grows what new challenges do you see over the horizon?
“There’s a steep learning curve, especially when it comes to how international trade and finance works, which makes each day interesting as I learn something new every day.” – Pat
How do you define success? What does success look like to you?
“For me, success is happiness at work. PG Paper offers an environment which is challenging, rewarding and flexible. I believe that managing to achieve a work-life balance allows for success both in the workplace and at home.” – Justine
“I think life is full of opportunities and the way we analyse, understand and use these chances to make progress in any context is true success. We must be prepared and proactive at all times.” – Rajesh
Outside work, how do you relax?
“Hiking and visiting other cities and villages around Scotland. Speaking of which, my next adventure is to the Isle of Skye, I’m really looking forward to that.” – Pat
