We remain deeply concerned about the recent attacks on commercial vessels and the resulting disruptions to shipping operations.
You may already be aware that additional contingency surcharges are now being implemented by several international shipping companies. These surcharges apply to cargo aboard vessels impacted by the disruptions in the Red Sea/Gulf of Aden region and also extend to cargo rerouted via the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa.
We want to assure our customers that we are actively monitoring the situation and maintaining open communication with all carriers to understand the impact on vessel movements and any applicable surcharges. However, due to these recent developments, we are experiencing higher costs and unexpected additional surcharges affecting all trade routes, including upcoming shipments and those already in transit.
Our team is committed to providing support to ensure the continuity of your operations while minimising potential financial impact. Although we will always strive to minimise additional costs, these surcharges vary, and adjustments are being made frequently with little advance notice. Therefore, there may be situations where we have no option but to transfer applicable costs to our customers. Rest assured, any such instances will be communicated thoroughly with as much advance notice as possible.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these ongoing challenges. If you have specific concerns or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to your dedicated PG Paper representative.
