At this time of year, businesses and people often take time to reflect on the year past and look forward to the new year ahead. This is particularly true of 2020, a difficult and challenging time for so many of us.
Our industry has certainly seen some changes this year, as companies scrambled to pivot online. Whereas this negatively impacted many industries, demand has soared for tissue and packaging. Increasing focus on environmental concerns has seen a significant shift to paper packaging and we continue to play a pivotal role in creating a greener future.
As we manage the many changes in our industry right now, it is reassuring to note that the paper, board and tissue industry is estimated to increase from $349b in 2019 to $368b in 2027.
